A monogram unfolding into a graphic system

Be Dandy’s creation stands out through its innovative approach of transforming the wine label into a fully-fledged artistic space, renewed each year. The logo—a monogram of the Domaine’s initials, D and C—expands to form the label itself. It becomes a visual labyrinth that invites contemplation before tasting. The packaging turns into a spiritual experience: a passage from shadow to light, from sight to taste. A sensory journey between the sacred and the profane.

Offering a stained-glass window as a first canvas

Each year, an emerging contemporary artist is selected for their ability to convey the character of the year’s wines. In 2025, David Festoc was chosen to create each label. Far from being mere decoration, the artwork is integrated into the very core of the graphic structure.

Expressive and functional gilding

The labels are structured with screen-printed details (in gold and deep black) that highlight each cuvée, evoking the shimmering fragments of Gothic stained glass. The gilding also indicates the tier of each wine. The label is printed on uncoated textured paper, reminiscent of ancient chapel stone, offering a rich, natural tactile experience.

The metallic capsules, color-matched to each cuvée, extend this visual harmony. Every element is designed to enhance the artwork while creating a tactile and visual experience.

How to remain recognizable when the design changes with each vintage and each year

The almost architectural graphic work reconciles the visual richness of the artworks with the challenge of creating a cohesive range. The label becomes a gallery where evolving artworks are framed by a structure derived from the Domaine’s emblem itself.

For 2025, David Festoc created five pieces for the Domaine, each illustrating one of the five cuvées: Les Bâtisseurs, Les Lutteurs, Les Joueurs, Les Grands Bournais, and La Croix Boissée.
